Looks like Amy Winehouse is giving up crack in favor of Jack. Daniels, that is. The wastoid singer is set to perform at the Bestival Festival in Britain this weekend, and in preparation for her performance has requested the delivery of 48 bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey. Because she’s decided to give her lungs a break and work instead on destroying her liver.

The hard-living Back to Black singer, 24, has a history of axing gigs at the last minute, and faces legal action after pulling out of a Paris concert just hours before she was due to headline last Friday.

Now organisers of the three-day Bestival event on the Isle of Wight fear she will either back out of her show tomorrow night — or turn up in no fit state to perform.

A Bestival source said last night: “It’s common for artists to make requests for food and beverages before they arrive.

“But organisers have heard Miss Winehouse has ordered in an extremely large amount of Jack Daniel’s, in fact, a ridiculous amount that she and her team could not possibly consume during their short stay.

“Everyone is really excited about getting Amy to perform here, and naturally there are now fears she is planning something wild.

“With Amy’s record this can mean failure to perform or giving a shambolic performance. Whiskey is better than heroin — but not 48 bottles of the stuff.”

When Amy performed at a Dublin festival in July, she demanded two bottles of red wine, a bottle each of vodka and brandy, a case of beer and 40 cigs.

Late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham died of alcohol poisoning and drank about 40 shots of vodka in one night. It looks like Amy is trying to top that this weekend. I’m totally mystified as to how she is still walking around alive. Equally frustrating is the fact that she keeps getting gigs- it seems like promoters at these festivals are more interested in Amy’s next chapter of crazy antics and the press it will bring to their event than her well being, or even her ability to give a decent concert. She’s become a one-woman sideshow. I’m sure we’ll see some wacked out footage of Amy after the weekend is over - that is, if she shows up.
